Cafe Batavia
It was a year ago when we came to Cafe Batavia, an old building cafe located near Fatahilah museum for dinner. The food itself was so so, nothing special. They served Chinese and western food. The price was also high...yeah cafe's standard.
The most I liked was the interior since it has many spot for taking pictures. The atmosphere was also nice. The dim lights created the romantic feeling :)
We chose second floor as our seats. The wooden floor and wide windows brought us back to the old Netherlandish colonialism times. We were seated near the window so that we could see the Fatahilah museum at the opposite. This Cafe Batavia is totally a romantic escape for dinner at all. We admire the place, not the food.
Here are some pics to tell.
Food : 3 from 5, it was so so
Price : 3 from 5, cafe standard, can't expect for cheaper
Service : 5 from 5, just perfect. One staff per table since the customers weren't many
Ambiance : 5 from 5 romantic place
Interior : 5 from 5, I like how they brought the colonialism feeling forward

Dragon Court, Sheraton Media
Tempted by the promo "All yo can eat Dim Sum for only IDR 50K++", we headed to Sheraton Media Hotel to experience the Dim Sum. Surprising by the long list of queuing fellows, we kept patiently waiting although we were damn hungry. After 60 minutes of torture, we got the table.
Didn't want to waste any second, we attacked the buffet table, grabbed all the food we want. But,,,,we were disappointed in no time. Food appearance was bad, quantity was not much available, taste was,,, couldn't describe it in words, seemed like the food was made by amateur. Herewith the pics
Sew Mai and steam dumpling were so horrible, see the appearance. Seemed like they had been frozen and warmed for several times. Bean curd dumpling was also miserable. See, what was wrapped by the bean curd? I have no idea.
The only one which healed my hunger was thousand years egg porridge.
I can't understand why so many people were willing to queue so long for those kind of meal. The seats were full, believe me.
Here is the resume :
Food : 1 from 5, yucky, hotel should serve better food
Price : 1 from 5, it's cheap, but we can afford more for better food
Service : 2 from 5, we could wait more than 60 minutes if we didn't keep following up to the waitress
Ambiance : 3 from 5 since it's a family restaurant, kids are around, noisy and messy
Interior : 4 from 5, ok, it's a hotel restaurant, you can imagine the interior.

Weekend Getaway at Singapore
Singapore isn't my favorite destination. It doesn't have panoramic view, mountain nor beautiful beach. But,,,,we got super duper cheap tour package. It was only IDR 800.000 per pax for return ticket Jakarta-Singapore by Garuda, 3 days and 2 nights at Trader Hotel, airport pick up and ticket to Universal Studio. So, Singapore, here we go.
Arrived in the evening at the hotel, didn't stop us to explore the city on the same day. Singapore isn't clean and well-organized like at the past. It's dirty and packed with immigrants. Malls as usual are still impressed shopaholic fellows, and me, I like Clarke Quay and the river side, it's so romantic in someways, despite the crowded visitors.
The hotel and meals were really good, compare to the price IDR 800K we've paid :)
What we enjoyed the most was the Universal studio. It's new opening one in Asia.
Herewith some pictures
The last day in Singapore was spent at Bugis Junction, Esplanade and Merlion park. I don't think I need to post the pics since they are common places and nothing found special.
Bye bye Singapore, till we meet again on another cheap tour package hahahaha.....

PuTien Restaurant
Pu Tien Restaurant, located at Suryo Wiryopranoto, Sawah Besar, Jakarta, offering us various "Xing Hua-China" menu. I like Pu Tien as it offers different style of Chinese dining. Don't want to waste your time reading my long writing, let's enjoy the pics.
Above Hotplate Tofu costs around IDR 38K...very yummy...worth to try. Later then I knew that the tofu is homemade.
Below is deep fried taro. It's sticky and sweet. I don't like it to be honest, but it's my husband's fave choice. Can't remember how much does it cost.
We also order my favorite fish, ikan malas....hehehe...dunno what it's called in English. Expensive, but it tastes good as always.....portion for 5 persons costs IDR 290K
And Thai squid ring, costs...err.... I can't remember sorry.. The taste is so so...nothing special with this squid ring.
Below is sweet and sour pork..hmm...this one is also good...no porky smell at all. I forgot the price..seems like IDR 25K something. Not so expensive
This one is Lo mie...nothing special. We ordered this item since we had dinner with my friend from China. Noodle is a must then.
Stir fried toumiao. Nothing special with this veggie ... Just trying to add greenie into our dinner menu
The last is steam bun with chicken. Please check how to serve this bun, very attractive to me.
The price is IDR 8K per piece.
The bun looks like pocket, we fill in the chicken into the bun. This style is really happening in China, said my friend.
Wow...we had have a lot at Pu Tien. Here is the summary,
Food : 5 from 5, tasty, perfect
Price : 5 from 5, no doubt, value for money
Service : 4 from 5, the waiters and waitress are very active and fast...but their faces aren't friendly...no smiles at all...
Ambiance : 3 from 5 since it's a family restaurant, kids are around, noisy and messy
Interior : 2 from 5, it's not a fancy restaurant, just an ordinary family resto...can't expect too much on design or interior and so on.

Bebek Goreng Kartosuro
Bebek Goreng Kartosuro, located on Tanjung Duren street, at the opposite of Danamon Bank. Not a fancy place, it lays on an old house, the front yard is filled with tables and chairs. The kitchen is also at the front side. Once you step in the place, feels like you are eating in kampong.
There are some fans blows, so it definitely hot, but u can feel the wind from the fan.
It's a bit quite on lunch, as for dinner, you have to queue to get the seat. The specialty is duck, reflected by its name. But you can find chicken too. We had fried duck, costs IDR16K. Not cheap but it's worth.
And tempe mendoan costs IDR 3K. We also took nasi uduk...nyam..nyam... cost IDR 4K
Nice place for those who seek for food not the ambiance
Food : 5 from 5, value for money
Price : 4 from 5, no doubt
Service : 3 from 5, slow service
Ambiance : 3 from 5 can't explain for more
Interior : 1 from 5,c'mon, it's a traditional business...don't expect too much interior.
Kaprow Thai Cuisine
Kaprow, Thai cuisine located in the mall Pluit Village. I can't remember where it is exactly, but for sure it's in the kind of food court. The food court has two area, Singaporean and Peranakan, if I'm not mistaken. The ambiance is....food court typical. Crowded. It's designed minimalistic and futuristic. Since we came at 11am, we didn't meet a lot of hungry people there. Just some couples there with the children.
The food itself is so so, if you think I'm not devil enough to judge it bad. I actually expected for more since the price is a bit expensive for food court class. And the most important thing for me is portion....the portion is ideal for those who are in diet program.
We took Kaprow special rice. The bean was dry, mince beef was overcooked, I found it bitter. The sauce was sour...Price IDR 25K really not worth. Heyy...it's food court only, u should charge me not more than IDR 20K for this kind of thing
Another meal was Pad Thai. The safest menu when you are taking Thai food. The taste was not bad, but the portion was very small. I can't remember how much was it. Something IDR 35K.
Food : 2 from 5, small portion, tasteless
Price : 2 from 5, expensive for food court class
Service : 2 from 5, what do you expect? You serve your self
Ambiance : 4 from 5, not too noisy
Interior : 5 from 5, good enough for food court
